T-17 Days to "Half-Asleep"

May 25, 2020

It is now exactly T-17 days before Half-Asleep is out on all Digital Streaming Platforms (DSPs)!

I'm a jumbled ball of nerves, excitement, fear and anticipation right now. Also, Half-Asleep is available for Pre-Save on Spotify and iTunes and here's the link: bit.ly/AlyssaLie-HalfAsleep. If you don't know what a pre-save is, it means that the song will be added to your playlist and on the day of release, it will be automatically available for you to listen to. :)

Life has been pretty crazy the last two weeks. I sent in a Grant Proposal for my Debut EP - Hopefully that goes through, and I'll be able to independently support my music for awhile longer! I've been working with Mark as well as Cross Ratio to manage promotional and press-related thingies. I've also been working from home and taking part in online workouts, trainings and castings over Zoom — which I'm happy to say have been extremely fun and have kept me motivated to continue working hard throughout the partial lockdown happening in Singapore right now. I look forward to seeing friends online whenever I can!

In exactly a week, we'll be on Phase 1 of our "New Normal" here in Singapore. To be very honest, I'm slightly intimidated because I know that my life will resume at breakneck speed once all the restrictions have been lifted. Singapore will resume it's fast-paced lifestyle, and people won't really have time for each other anymore. These past 2 months will have felt like a dream...

I've really been enjoying working, working out, learning, practicing and relaxing at my own time and pace. I do have to admit, though, that it probably isn't very healthy staying indoors every day. I've only been out about 5 times in the past 2 months because I just don't like wearing masks. Hence, I've become somewhat of a recluse, spending most of my time in my room and in the living room downstairs. I must add that even though I miss being able to walk freely outdoors and sit at a café to do work, I definitely don't miss the hot and heavy Singapore heat and humidity. In some ways, I am quite happy staying at home. Haha!

Today, I am trusting the process. I trust that I am doing what is best for me, and that I am going at a pace that is healthy and productive. I trust that the Universe will still my heart and guide me in the right direction. I trust that I am where I need to be.
